Is anything on this site personal advice for me?

Suppose you read our review of Capital.com, like the look of the platform, open an account and fund it, and then a trade moves against you. Could you say we told you to do that? No. Nothing on this site is personal advice, and nothing here is a recommendation that you open an account, deposit money or place any particular trade.

We write general editorial content for a broad Australian readership. We do not know your circumstances, your goals, your experience, your other investments or what you can afford to lose, so we cannot and do not tailor anything here to you. The review reflects our own editorial judgement at the time of writing, based on the information available to us.

Any decision you make about a broker, a product or a trade is yours. If you want advice that takes your situation into account, speak to someone appropriately qualified to give it, and remember that trading carries a real risk of loss.

What if you change these terms later?

We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in how the site works, changes in the content we publish, or changes in the law. When we do, we will publish the revised version on this page with a new effective date. The version in force is the one shown here at the moment you use the site.

Where a change is significant, we will try to make that clear on the page itself rather than slipping it in quietly. Your continued use of the site after a revised version is published means you accept the terms as revised. If you do not accept them, the right response is to stop using the site.

What happens if one part of these terms cannot be enforced?

Terms like these are written to cover many situations, and occasionally a court or regulator may decide that a particular sentence does not work as written. If that happens, that sentence is treated as removed, or as narrowed to the minimum extent needed to make it work, and the rest of these terms carry on in full force.

We do not treat one unenforceable sentence as wiping out the whole document. The remaining provisions continue to govern your use of the site exactly as if the affected part had never been included, so the overall balance of these terms stays intact.

How far are you responsible if something goes wrong?

We put effort into keeping the content accurate and up to date, but we cannot promise that everything on the site is complete, current or free of error at the moment you read it. Brokers change their fees, products and rules, and markets move. In plain words: you rely on what you read here at your own risk.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage you suffer as a result of using this site or relying on its content. That includes trading losses, lost profits, lost opportunities and any indirect or consequential loss. Where the law does not allow us to exclude liability entirely, our liability is limited to the smallest amount that law permits.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under Australian consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We are an editorial site only. We do not hold your money, execute your trades, run accounts or act as your agent, so we cannot be responsible for what a broker does or fails to do.

What about links to other sites, and who may use this site?

This site contains links to other websites, including the broker's own site. Those links are there so you can check things for yourself. We do not control those sites, we do not endorse everything on them, and their terms and privacy practices are their own. Once you leave this site, what happens next is between you and that other party.

The site is intended for readers in Australia who are old enough to enter into binding agreements under the law that applies to them. If you are below that age, or if the law where you are located makes it unlawful for you to access content of this kind, you should not use the site. You may not use it in a way that breaks any law, interferes with the site's operation or attempts to access it by unauthorised means.

If you have a question about these terms, use the contact form on this site.
